Hello, Patriot families!  This is Mrs. Lassiter calling with the second round of announcements.

This week, I set dates for HMS information sessions to help folks understand year-round middle schools a bit better.  I will have one session at 6 pm on Nov. 30th and another at 10:30 am on Dec. 6th.  These sessions are geared for folks who want to learn more about year-round and what HMS offers.  It is not intended for folks who are already in the HMS pipeline or who have individual questions about the new assignment plan.   If you have neighbors who are unfamiliar with HMS want to learn about our school, this is the meeting for them.
Mr. Savage, Principal at HHS, asked that I share their meeting with you, as well.

As part of the new student choice assignment plan, Heritage High School will host an Open House on December 14 at 6:00pm.  Feel free to share this information with neighbors and friends who are considering Heritage High School for the 2012-13 school year.  More details about the event will be available heritagehs.wcpss.net.

Yearbooks will go on sale Nov. 29th.  The price before the holidays will be $30 and the price after the holidays will be $40.  We are giving a $10 break for early sales.  If you would like to purchase one for your child as part of a holiday gift we will supply a card in the front office.  Cash payments can be made before school or online through the HMS website.

As a point of clarification, we are in school next Wednesday before the Thanksgiving break.
We still have a few children on our Giving Tree.  If you would like to purchase items to support a needy child, please call or come by the school.

Sixth grade parents, please take time between now and the end of the break to complete the online sixth grade parent survey.  The link is provided on the PTA website.  Additionally, teams have it listed on their respective Blackboard sites.

Remember that forms for Spiritwear are due on Monday, Nov. 21st.  That deadline is firm.

The Newbery Club is sponsoring a children and teens book drive.  Donations can be deposited at the top of each grade level hall.  Donations will support Toys for Tots.

Many of you have probably seen the art supply drive posted in carpool and you have seen the cool creations.  Please take time to look at the list of items and see if you have things that you might donate.  The list is posted on our school site and the PTA site.

Keep collecting the Boxtops.  The new team competitions are well underway!

That will do it for this week!  Have a great weekend!
