Heritage Middle operates on a multi-track year-round calendar. Students at the year-round schools are divided into four groups, called tracks, each with its own calendar. In a year-round school, the required number of school days is divided into nine-week quarters, with a three-week break at the end of each quarter. Think of the year in 12-week cycles, each with 9 weeks of instruction and 3 weeks of vacation. That vacation period varies based upon the track.
Schedules are staggered so that, at any given time, three tracks are in school and one is on break. These staggered schedules enable the school to serve a larger student population. Currently, we do not have a Track 2.
Year-round schools provide a more continuous learning process. Students and teachers find that the more frequent breaks require less review than is typical after a summer vacation. Likewise, the more frequent breaks help students and staff stay more energized and focused.
At Heritage Middle School, we are proud to be known for our commitment to academic excellence and fostering positive behavior. Our dedicated staff and supportive community work together to ensure every student thrives in a safe, challenging, and nurturing environment.
